Kasia Niewiadoma Rebounds after 2 "terrible days" and helps Neve Bradbury on the road to his first UCI victory

Canyon-SRAM arrived at the women of the Tour de Switzerland with a strong team, and after a 3・day race, the team had 3 stage podiums, a lead in the mountains, a classification of young riders and a GC top 10 of 3 riders.

Elise Chubby has been in Stage 1 in 3rd place since leaving, but revealed that she is not targeting the whole thing. Neve Bradbury emerged as the team's best GC card after Stage 2ITT, and the team went in search of an opportunity in Stage 3, sending Bradbury and Kasia Niewiadoma into disengagement.

That tactic paid off handsomely with champagne as the Canyon Slam went 1-2 on stage, and Bradbury claimed her first win in the UCI race. He also promoted the 22-year-old rider from Australia, who was 1:22 behind leader Demi Worx-Protime to 2nd overall. Niebiadoma rose to No. 6 overall, while team・mate Antonia Niedermeier remained in No. 9.

One day, after the first two stages went wrong, a smile came back on Niebiadoma's face.

"The first two days were terrible for me, coming down from altitude and having terrible legs. I was very upset about it, and today it was just a stage to regain the joy of racing and having fun. We are very happy about it because we did it perfectly," Niewiadoma said after the 125.6km stage.

"The tactic was basically to have fun. At the end of the day, we love this sport, so we all ride bikes, so it's really nice to be there and do what we like the most."

Two riders took a break and Niebiadoma and Bradbury were in a very good situation. They planned to make the most of it on the final climb, but were surprised by the ease they could pull apart.

"In fact, the plan was for Cassia to pace at the bottom of the climb and attack me because I didn't know how the other riders were feeling. She went ahead and immediately, it was just the two of us, and we were like, "Yeah, we just go full gas now and take as much time as we can

" and I was a bit ahead at GC so I wanted to win the stage to get 10 bonus seconds.

However, even without GC considerations, Niewiadoma is not a rider who wins many races, but a 22-year-old Australian teammate as a thank-you gesture to his first win as a pro.

"Neve has worked for me many times, so I can say thanks in this way." It was a pleasure for me to have a good time. In my mind, it was all about my teammates trying to get to the top either at the GC or on stage. It doesn't happen that often, so it's great that I can finally return it," Niewiadoma said.

Bradbury carries a six-second time gap over Gaia Realni (Lidl-Trek) to lead the classification of the best young riders. Chubby confirmed the Best climber award with a 12-point lead to Realni.

The final day of the race on Tuesday is a 127.5km route with 2 classified climbs and a finish with champagne.
