Visma・ Tour de France Custom Cerbero Bike Reveals Rental Bike

The Visma・Lease A Bike news is fast following the revelation that both Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert have created a Tour de France roster for the team, as they revealed the custom painted bikes the team will race today.

The team's news was teased on Monday and a "postcard from Tignes" was posted on social media. A few days later, in confirming the selection, the team revealed a special blue "Renaissance" design kit created to avoid collisions with the yellow jersey worn by maillot jaune of the Tour de France, the leader of the general classification of races.

Today, detailed images of the team's Cerbero bikes have been shared, matching the blue design.

Complete with a intricately patterned dark blue base coat, the yellow remains still down through the pretty Cervélo logo on the tube and the "C" emblem on the head tube

The Renaissance design sits on the top tube just behind the stem and shows the "infinite possibilities". The phrase "in the spirit of thought" is superimposed. The team says the design was "inspired by the spirit of this amazing development period."

The 2024 Tour de France is unique in that it will finish outside Paris for the first time since 1975. With the collision with the Paris Olympics, the Tour de France route will instead end its time trial in Nice on the south coast.

In order to honor the change, the team has created "a city of creative thinkers, revolutionary innovators, versatile artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Donatello" and "

" The team's CEO, Richard Plug, in design, said, "We not only respect this historical era and the beautiful city and region." It's not just about what you're doing, it's about what you're doing, it's about what you're doing, But it also symbolizes our dedication to innovation and renewal."

The bike under the paint will be the lightweight Cervélo R5, Aero's first Cervélo S5 with an unusual Y-shaped stem, and the P5 time trial bike. As shown in the shared image, the team will use SRAM's Red AXS group set, a 12-speed wireless group set launched earlier this year. It is shown here with a 2x chain set, but both Vingegaard and Van Aert regularly switch to a 1x chain set, and the same is expected this year.

Primoš Roglić, formerly a Slovenian GC candidate for the Visma team, now uses SRAM's red XPLR gravel group set on the steepest slopes in the past, along with Bora-Hansgrohe. The yet-to-be-announced 13-speed SRAM Red XPLR gravel group set was leaked at Unbound Gravel earlier this month, but specifications have changed little from the rest of the season so far, with one of the SRAM-sponsored teams using it on tour.

Elsewhere on the Visma team's Renaissance bike. It is not. Cervélo sister company reserve supplies wheels. The Italian brand Vittoria is highly appreciated by our testing team and the Corsa Pro

Fizik saddle is used, which is featured prominently in our guide to the best road bike tires, but the accurate model depends on the rider.

It is unclear whether the decision to switch the kit from yellow was purely the team's choice or was originally mandated by the tour's organiser, ASO.

Each year, the organizers of the Giro d'Italia RCS sport announced that the ef Education EasyPost team will wear the pink jersey worn by the leader. In order to avoid a clash with one maglia rosa, the usual pink kick–EF team has repeatedly collaborated with the streetwear brand "Palace" and has achieved great results.

However, in recent years the Visma Lease-A-Bike has been free to wear the usual black and yellow coloring for French racing.

In 2023, despite getting a custom-painted Cervero at the start of the race, Jonas Vingegaard, the team's GC leader and final race winner, was on a similar bike with a more tour-specific palette that matched the race leader's jersey and the festive yellow Cervero. I finished.

However, in a world of extreme optimization and marginal gains, paint is often considered an unnecessary weight, and riders will prefer to go without a 100-gram powder coat. Because of this, many teams use mostly black bikes, which can easily cover the carbon fiber black with a lightweight clear coat. It will be interesting to see if Vingegaard will be like Amy Winehouse and return to black on a day of steep slopes.

Interestingly, despite being only 8 days away from the race at the time of publication, this is the first custom design I've ever seen. But we know that Bora-Hansgrohe is going to announce a partnership with Red Bull, so we expect to see a new custom painted special tarmac frame next week.

We are also in the middle of the "National Championship" season, so we expect each newly crowned champion to be given a special painting job. We also expect paint shops of different brands to be busy next week.
