Uno X Mobility Disqualified from Tour of Slovenia for "Super Tack" Downhill

Johannes Kruse (Uno X) was disqualified from Friday's Tour of Slovenia for repeatedly taking the now-banned "super tuck" riding position during the third stage from Ljubljana to Nova Gorica.

Kruse was in a riding position with his chest low over the bars and in front of the saddle.

The Norwegian was part of a 13-man lead group in the last 10km of the 160.5km stage. Giovanni Aleotti (Bora-Hansgrohe) attacked from the same group to take the stage win, but Kruse finished in a 12-man group 11 seconds behind.

Kruse tailed off before the descent of the stair-stepped Category 3 climb to Ravnica and again after the summit, using his banned position both times to rejoin the pack, and once back, he chased down Areotti and led the pack.

Note that Areotti tried to take a more aerodynamic position on the descent, but was able to avoid disqualification by staying in the saddle, a legal workaround under UCI rules.

After rejoining the bunch, Kruse moved up to 10th overall.

However, the race jury disqualified Crousset due to his downhill style, which was banned beginning April 1, 2021, as part of UCI regulations to improve road racing safety.
