Team size for the Paris 2024 Olympic Road Race and time trial has been confirmed

The end of the 2023 road season will bring confirmation of team size for the Men's and women's road events of the Paris Olympics.

In the UCI rankings, Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and France are granted maximum quotas for men's road race riders.Meanwhile, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and the United Kingdom have 4 women's road race riders.

In men's, Spain was close to reaching the French total, but was in short supply before the end of the season. As with the Netherlands, Italy, Australia and the United States, they race with 3 riders.

Poland, Australia, France, Germany and Canada all sent three riders to the women's road race, while the United States, Denmark and Spain are among the five countries set to field two starters. The Polish team came close to overtaking GB and Daria Piclik scored 730UCI points in her last WWT race in China, but was still below 0.34 points.

The ranking will be the best rider of each country throughout the season, along with Christophe Laporte (Jumbo Visma), France's top scorer in 2023 and likely host country leader of the classic-style parkour revealed at the Tour de France earlier this year. It is taken from.

The next 10 highest ranked countries ride in pairs, including Ireland, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Switzerland, Colombia, Portugal, Norway, Canada and Kazakhstan. The next 25 countries in the ranking received 1 spot.

In the ranking of women, the top 5 countries take 4th place, 6-10 3rd place, 11-20 2nd place, and 21-45 1st place.

It is often one of the most unpredictable and fascinating races of the year because there are few national teams, no race radio, there is confusion on such a difficult course and there is no difference on the route of Paris 2024.1 It is not difficult compared to Tokyo 2020 in terms of pure climbing, but the men's race is 273km long, and in Paris it repeats a small climb of 2,800 m in total and spends a brutal day in the saddle. The women's race is 158km and 1,700 m above sea level.

The real dilemma for the country is the Olympic time trial, with significantly fewer riders able to compete in the men's field of 35, top

Belgium, the United Kingdom and Switzerland among those qualified for two allotted spots. This means that Remco Evenepoel and Wout fan Aert are European champions

However, Slovenia has problems. After such a difficult season, they have only one spot for Tadeji PogaƱar's unglamorous performance at Stirling, who understood the effort he put into podiuming the road race and ended up off the pace at the 21st.

Nevertheless, Slovenia will have to decide which course is most suitable for the winner of the Tour de France between Olympic time trial champions Primos Roglic and Pogachal.

It's a much more flat 32km route that starts and finishes in the French capital, in contrast to the uphill course that Logrier dominated in Japan.

France, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany have a similar problem of choosing one rider for a time trial, and must also be chosen for road races, with multiple strong riders for every watch.

Countries such as Australia, Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States will send two women to the time trial, while major countries such as Italy, Belgium and Switzerland each have one representative.

The first medal will be awarded after the men's and women's individual time trial in 2024/7/27, and the road race will arrive at the weekend after 8/3 and 4.
