Demi Vollering excited for Alpes Duez at the Tour de France Women

Defending champion Demi Volaring (SD Worx) has revealed that her childhood ambition, the 2024 Tour de France Femme and the iconic Alpes・Duais legendary Alpine climb, will serve as the climax of the 10・edition revealed in Paris on Wednesday 25 May 2024. It's a good idea.

Volaring dominated the race and the Queen stage in 2023, winning solo at Corduttormale and consolidating his position as overall champion. Her final winning margin was 8:3:03 after the Stage time trial.

"It's really special, also because when I was like a little kid, Arpeduez was the first mountain I knew,"Vollering after the route revealed

"It was the first mountain I wanted to ride but it didn't actually happen. Now I can finally do that even the Tour de France.

SD Worx Star was the best rider in 2023, winning all of the Strade Bianche, Amstel Gold Race, Flèche Wallone, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Vuelta A Burgos, Tour de France Femmes and Tour de Romandie, and ranked 2nd overall in La Vuelta Femenina, Itzulia Women and Tour de Suisse.

She also won the road race title at the Dutch National Championship. Her historic season saw her rewarded with a Velo D'Or.

The 26-year-old Volling was also excited about Dutch homecoming as the 2024 race will begin in 4 stages - Holland and Belgium. Volarling was born in Piñacker, a Dutch town between Rotterdam and the Hague.

"It's really exciting to finally see the course because I had already dreamed a lot about it. Maybe it's just passing by my house," Vollering said.

Vollering became brilliant in the Netherlands and Belgium in 2023, winning her national title and completing the famous Ardennes Classic Triple Liege, a Stage 4 finish location. It also includes many of the same famous climbs that are raced in parkour similar to that of Liège–Bastogne–Liège.

"I also became the Dutch champion in the Limburg and Amstel Gold Races, so a lot of emotions came back and I'm really excited."

Main GC rival Annemiek van Vleuten recently retired from the sport after a great career, but a lot can happen between now and then, with new challengers to the crown of August and Vollering coming to the fore.
