Roglic Extends Contract with Jumbo Visma through 2023

Jumbo Bisma ended speculation about his future with the team with a video announcement that Slovenian and current Vuelta a España leader Primoš Roglic has signed a new contract through the end of 2023.

With Tom Dumoulin's mid-season move from Team Sunweb, it had been suggested that Roglic might also break his 2020 contract and move to another team in order to secure the team leader for the 2020 Tour de France.

Roglic could move to UAE team Emirates, and if a move becomes possible, other teams would be interested.

Jumbo Bisma, with the help of PSV Eindhoven coach Toon Gerbrands, darts world champion Michael van Gerwen, Barcelona FC soccer player Frenkie de Jong, and Dutch singer Jan Smit, produced an amusing video, which was shown on the PSV website, put an end to the transfer talk and confirmed Roglic's contract extension.

Citing his talents in ski jumping and cycling, they all suggested that Roglic might want to change sports, but Jumbo-Visma manager Richard Plagge, in response to their call, extended his contract with Roglic He suggested.

Despite being the race leader of the Vuelta a España, Roglic did not hold a press conference on the second day of rest. He confirmed in a team announcement that he would remain in Jumbo-Visma.

"I like the way this team works. I enjoy being part of this team. It's about working together. We can achieve big goals together. As a cyclist, I came into this team as a relative newbie. I got a chance and support.

"Everything happened so fast. For me and for the team. Now we have reached a good level together and I really believe we can go even higher. We've been able to win some races over the last few years, but we're always looking for more and aiming for the best.

"The most important reason to stay is that we have a chance here. I like to win. This team has that option. So I didn't have to think long about it. I feel like this is where I belong.
