The Dutch Federation has announced its elite women's team for the UCI Road World Championships. Defending road race and time trial champions Anna van der Breggen and Annemiek van Vleuten and three-time road world champion Marianne Voss will lead the strongest team to the start line in Yorkshire Standing.

"It is no surprise that the Dutch elite women are among the favourites to win the World Championships. 'We want to start with the strongest team possible, and we want to take advantage of all the different scenarios that can happen in the road races.' Of course, the team has great ambitions to win the world title in both the time trial and the road race."

At last year's Innsbruck World Championships, the Dutch women's elite team started with Van der Breggen and van Vleuten, the favorites to win both the time trial and road race. Van der Breggen won the silver medal, while compatriot Ellen van Dijk took bronze.

However, it was unclear whether van der Breggen and van Vleuten would both be going for the world title in the road race two days later. However, all speculation was put to rest when Van Breuten crashed early in the race. She got back on the bike and continued to set up van der Breggen for a solo victory on the mountainous course. Van Vleuten finished the race, but was forced to take several months off to recover from a broken knee.

Van der Breggen and Van Vleuten are also favourites to win in Yorkshire, but the 150km classic-style course is more suited to a wider range of talent this year. The women's race starts in Bradford and heads north to Masham in North Yorkshire.

Vos has had an outstanding season with dominant victories at the Giro Rosa, La Course, and the Ladies Tour of Norway. She will undoubtedly win her fourth road world title and add to her collection of rainbow jerseys won in multiple disciplines.

The Dutch team includes former world champion Chantal Black, Lucinda Brand, Amy Peters, Florche McKay, and Demi Volering.

Rising sprint star and Dutch champion Lorena Wiebes is not on the list for Yorkshire. This decision comes as a surprise after Vives' success this season with 15 wins. However, there is speculation that the punchy final circuit is not really suited to her abilities.

In the 30km time trial, van Breuten will be looking for his third consecutive world title, but will once again face teammate van der Breggen. Brand will also compete in the time trial. Van Dijk will not compete in this year's world championships after breaking his arm and pelvis in a crash at the Boels Ladies Tour.

The Dutch team will also compete in the new national team mixed relay, which will replace the previous trade team time trial. The women's team will include Pieters, Brand, and Markus, while the men's team will include Bauke Mollema, Jos van Emden, and Kane Bowman.
