Alaphilippe and Even Paul Lead Detuning Quickstep in Canadian World Tour Race

Julien Alaphilippe and Remco Evenpoel will lead the Dečuninck-Quick Step team in this weekend's GP Cycliste de Quebec and GP Cycliste de Montreal one-day races. Both riders will use the Canadian WorldTour event as their final preparation for the UCI Road World Championships road race in Yorkshire, England, from September 22-29.

France's Alaphilippe is one of the main contenders for the World Championships road race on September 29. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Belgian star Evenpoel will compete in both the road race and the individual time trial on September 25.

The two riders will be supported this Friday in Quebec by Caspar Asgreen, Mikel Honoré, Enric Mas, Pieter Serry, and Dries Devenyns.

"We are heading to Canada with many of the athletes who had very strong runs in the Deutschland Tour two weeks ago. They are eager to continue their remarkable season and bring good results to the team," sport director Davide Bramati said on the Dečuninck-Quickstep website.

"Quebec and Montreal are really tough races and don't give you a moment's rest, but our roster has the depth, strength, and determination to be there when it matters and have a say in the outcome," he said.

Deceuninck-QuickStep will compete in the Quebec and Montreal GPs: Julien Alaphilippe, Caspar Asgreen, Dries Devenance, Remco Evenpole, Mikel Honoré, Enric Mas and Pieter Serry
